It's the year 2000....
You’re still connecting to the internet via America Online dial up (who can forget that sound?)and asking Jeeves all of life’s most pressing questions. Big Brother debuted on prime-time television (and is still going strong – shocking, we know!) and Faith Hill’s Breathe was gracing the airwaves.
The Rams won Super Bowl XXXIV (and were still in St. Louis), the average price of a gallon of gas was $1.26 and you could own the top-selling cell phone for only $160 (raise your hand if you were a part of the Nokia 3310 club)!
But, while you were trying to teach your parents how to turn on a computer and living on a steady diet of pizza rolls and Monster, something else was unfolding in the fall of 2000...
On September 7, 2000, Ascedia officially opened for business with four employees and $400 in the bank! Our first client was Zapf Creation, a German doll making company with its American headquarters in Orlando, and our first major project was building their website.
Fun Fact: Our name was derived from the words Ascend Your Media, which was our original tagline.
